Published Report- Use of Synthetic Greenhouse Gases and Substitutes in the RAC Industry

In collaboration with David Caple and Associates Pty Ltd, the team at Eva & Associates (headed up by COH Mr Brian Eva) recently completed a report on the "Use of Synthetic Greenhouse Gases and Substitutes in the Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry".

Commissioned by the Commonwealth Department of Environment, the report follows on from findings of the 2012 WHS report -Baseline Analysis of Work Health and Safety Data and Information for the Use of Synthetic Greenhouse Gases and Substitutes in the Australian Gas Industry Sector- which highlights the growing need for technicians, consumers and work health and safety agencies across all jurisdictions to have a thorough understanding of how to use these refrigerants safely as they become more widely used in the RAC industry.

The newly published 2015 Report provides a detailed analysis of the WHS issues facing Australia’s RAC industry now and in the future. It provides key findings that identify roles and responsibilities for industry, state and territory regulators and the Commonwealth to effectively address these issues.

The final published report can now be found online at http://www.environment.gov.au/protection/ozone/publications/2015-analysis-whs-data-rac-industry
